About Us

What started as a graduate school project in 2013 from an idea to provide parishioners of a local Catholic parish with a collection of popular commentaries and daily reflection rooted in daily scripture readings morphed into a more traditional bible study on the Church’s daily scripture readings. That continued for ten years until the website [Daily Virtue] was attacked by hackers, making it inaccessible, which led to the establishment of a new website [Daily Virtue Online]. With this change, the site evolved into a more lectio divina approach which focused on a specific verse within the daily scripture readings accompanied by a short reflection to assist readers in centering their day. The underlying direction of this site has remained true to its origins, as stated by St. Jerome, “Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ.”

Our hope is to reunite the previous ten years of posts with this new effort to provide some continuity to our faithful followers of so many years. Stay tuned for more information on that effort.
